Need a social media refresher? I've got you covered!

Hey ,
I hope you are feeling calm and content going into these next few weeks. I know that's hard to do, but give yourself grace and remember to be grateful for all the positives each day. Happy Thanksgiving US friends, to you and your family.
Social Media News you can Use:
Instagram keeps on adding
Last week we talked about the home page changing, but you may have heard or seen even more changes in the platform. Recently, Instagram added Guides, Threads, and Keyword searches.
Guides: You can create guides using your content, or other account's tagged content. They're pretty simple to use and add another category on your home page. Here's a pretty comprehensive dive into how to use Guides.
Threads: Threads is an app that Instagram released that adds captions to your speaking. It connects directly to IG so you can add your 15-sec clips straight to your story. There is a bit of a delay so I like to save the videos and add them manually. You can find the app in the app store.
Keyword Searches: Instagram now lets you search for content using keywords. This takes place in the discovery area. Not everyone has this feature yet, but it's coming quickly! Your content will be more easily searchable if you add alt text to your images. Here is a blog post that gives a lot more information about it.
Twitter Fleets
You may have heard last week that Twitter added a feature similar to IG and FB stories. Users can create a post that only lasts 24 hours. Apparently, in the last week, Twitter has faced some privacy issues around Fleets (content lasting longer than the 24 hours and some users viewing the content not showing up) so they are slowing down the rollout. They have announced that things are fixed on their end now. Here is more information on that story.
Snapchat launches Spotlight
In case you haven't noticed the pattern here, the platforms tend to copy each other. That makes it easier for us (the user) because we feel comfortable understanding how to use it. This time it's Snapchat, they created Spotlight as a response to scrolling through Reels and Tik Tok videos. You can learn more here.

I hope you give yourself some days off at the end of the week here. Be sure to schedule your content so you don't have to stress about it!
Here are 5 ideas for content for next week (November 30th- December 4th)
Monday:
Cyber Monday: Keep going with those sale posts. Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, they just all bleed into each other. So keep it going. Post about your sale, put it in your stories, create a video of yourself talking about it, or creating it. Don't give up at the end, even if you haven't made 1 sale. Lots of people wait until that last minute to buy.
Tuesday:
December 1st. Last month of the year. Give a #tipTuesday and talk about what you do at the beginning of the month to be prepared. Inspire your followers to be prepared with you as we enter into the last month of the year.
Wednesday:
Women Crush Wednesday #wcw is a great chance to give a shout out to a women-owned brand or business you love! This is good because you tell your followers about a brand they should know about, you're supporting another person's business (good karma!) and they just may repost it giving you reach to their followers.
Thursday:
Friday Eve! It's a hard week back after a holiday. Try leaning in to that Friday Eve feel. Promote comfort or indulgence in your picture or caption. An opportunity to relate to your followers.
Friday (It's my BIRTHDAY!!):
Weekend Vibes...How can your product or service promote weekend vibes? Or maybe it's time to turn off and start the weekend. What are your plans? You could promote something going on in your town (if it isn't shut down) or maybe how you plan to spend your lockdown weekend.
Here are the Hashtag Holidays for you to create content and events around next week. That link will take you to a site that has them for the rest of the year if you want to go even further.
