As we approach the last 2 weeks of the year, there's something I hope you consider.

Last year, as I was busily scaling my company, I was positive that I needed to work every day during the month of December (except Christmas and New Years). Any day I didn't work, I felt guilty and icky all day.

Spoiler Alert: It didn't really get me anywhere. I didn't land any new clients or new leads. And honestly, the internet world is a bit quiet and lonely those 2 weeks (especially LinkedIn).

I say that to say, you have permission to take time off during the holidays. A lot of other people are off, so there's not a ton to be done.

If you own a business that thrives in that time, take time off in January. Your mental health needs it. You work hard, you've been putting everything into getting where you're at today. Give yourself permission to take a break. Without guilt or judgment.

Content ideas for 12/13-12/17

Are there parts of your business that are not available to the public eye? It's time to shine the light on some of them.  While there should be a level of privacy to what you post, people want to see new and exciting sights and sounds.  This is why keeping up with the trending sounds on social media is essential.  It lets you know what people are responding to at that moment, and it changes quickly!  If you feel like you are having trouble keeping up with the viral trends, message me, let's chat!

Mon 13- Is there a situation in your business that would fit into an Instagram vs. Reality category?  This is a perfect way to show your followers and potential clients the messier part of being a business owner.  People love to see raw and messy situations so share away!

Tues 14- Get a little controversial but not too much.  It catches attention when you use an edgy statement to stop the scrolling.  Is there an insider tip in your industry that would shock people?  Think of something attention-grabbing and relevant and roll with it!

Wed 15- #NationalCupcakeDay ‘I like you, have a cupcake!’  You can search this sound on Instagram in the search bar under Audio, pick your favorite cupcake, and have some fun!

Thurs 16- #ChocolateCoveredAnythingDay Do you love chocolate?  Today is a free for all for you!  Pick out your favorite chocolate-covered treat, research the most popular IG sound you can find, and set your snack to music.  Use this hashtag and include hashtags relevant to your industry and location for better exposure.

Fri 17- #UglyChristmasSweaterDay Ugly Christmas sweaters have been popular for years, so chances are you already have one laying around, or you can easily find one for a reasonable price.  If you are feeling festive today, choose a sound that has a dance that goes along with it, and that many others are re-creating. Challenge yourself to create the video in your Christmas sweater.  At first, it may feel funny to be in front of the camera in a vulnerable way, but it will definitely be fun, and the people scrolling by will see that energy and hopefully stop scrolling!  If you need any additional assistance, you can reach me here!
