On a scale from 1-10....

Question for you ,

How comfortable are you asking for feedback?

It's not an easy thing to hear sometimes. I totally get that. But I do believe it can be incredibly powerful.

When I was a restaurant manager, the corporate chain I worked for spent a lot of money creating a culture (you may have worked in a place like this before). One of the things they preached was "I see more through your feedback". We were supposed to be open about giving and receiving feedback. I loved this concept.

I understand that I have blind spots. And I definitely know there are people who have strengths that are very different than mine. And because of this, I am constantly looking for feedback. And I mean true and honest feedback. The kind that is hard to give, and might sting to hear.

But how am I ever going to get better if I don't keep learning? How will I see the things I can't see if I don't ask people around me? I just recently asked a huge Facebook group for feedback on my videos. Why? Why not? Might as well use our resources to our advantage.

So I challenge you to open yourself up to feedback. I love to give business owners Free Instagram Audits. If you'd like some feedback on your IG, book a call here and I'm so happy to do so.

How about some content ideas for the upcoming week.

First, take a look here at May Monthly and Weekly Observances. It's a great place to start!

And here are some ideas for your content next week May 3-7:

Are you utilizing all of Instagram's engagement features? The platform is constantly changing, so it's always a good rule of thumb to try and stay as educated as possible on what's new. It helps your page stay relevant when utilizing new features and seems to make the all elusive algorithm happy. This is why making Reels is so essential!

Monday 3: Start simply by creating an in-feed post around a problem, question, or service that your brand can solve or provide. Prompt readers to continue the conversation in your stories. While posting your few story slides, make sure you are using interactive GIFs, location stickers, polls, quizzes or slide bars, and a few relevant hashtags.

Tuesday 4: Today is #TeacherAppreciationDay and all week is #TeacherAppreciatonWeek SO, share your favorite teacher or maybe a family member or employee who has taught you a lot. If you can't think of a good candidate to share, it's also #NationalStarWarsDay, so there's that!

Wednesday 5- #CincoDeMayo Let's get festive. If you are reading this, you still have time to order a sombrero on Amazon and have it get here on time for a fun #CincoDeMayo photo shoot. Want to be extra? Get the maracas, pinata, paper flowers and sarape also. Do a themed table, and have a nacho party, and document it!

Thursday 6- #NationalBeverageDay This is pretty simple and is a great way to get readers to visit your stories to vote on their favorite beverage! You can use a static post of your favorite beverage talking about where you get it (home or purchased at a store), why you love it, how long you have been drinking it, and any other info about your favorite drink. Then tell your readers you will be over in stories to poll their favorite drink. One story slide could POLL alcoholic or non-alcoholic/ sweet or unsweet, and the next slide could QUIZ readers on three different brands of drinks. Have fun with it!

Friday 7- #TGIF ! Fridays are always fun, and Fridays are fun to post on too. There are so many good ideas for this Friday! This Friday, the hoppin' hashtags will be #TourismDay #NationalSpaceDay (and/or #spaceday), and TOMORROW will be #DogMomDay. It's completely acceptable to get ahead of the game if you identify best as a Dog Mom! Using the hashtag the day before can give you a bit of a head start with views, insights, and hashtag relevance, so by all means, be first in line!
