Happy New Year's Eve to one and all! I hope that your 2023 was fabulous and 2024 is lining up to be even more spectacular!
If one of your New Year's resolutions was to spread some random acts of kindness, I have got a couple ways to tick that box for you.
The BroadwayWorld regional awards are in the final day of voting and I have several shows up for a mess of awards. Would you be up for clicking some boxes and helping to get us over the finish line?
No purchase is necessary! If you've clicked somewhere and it asks for a credit card, you've accidentally clicked on an ad.
To vote:
- Enter your email address in the box featured in this picture
- At the very end, confirm your name and email address (and you have the option to sign up for their newsletter, but it isn't necessary) to make sure you're not a bot.
- You'll get an email asking you to confirm your real in your inbox. Just click on the link so your vote is counted.
And that's it! You ready?
First off, Working for Crumbs is up for TWO BroadwayWorld UK/West End awards for Best New Play and Best Direction of a New Play. (At one point, we were beating out the Royal Shakespeare Company, which is hilarious and awesome!)
Next up, Building Madness, my 1930s screwball comedy is up for THIRTEEN Seattle BroadwayWorld Awards! The Pacific Northwest is a brutal town for new artists, so landing one of these would be a massive help to get past the gatekeepers.
And then finally, my adaptation of Agatha Christie's first Poirot story, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, is up for SIXTEEN BroadwayWorld Regional Awards! Theatre in the Round is the oldest continuously operating theatre in Minneapolis and I'm hoping they'll pick up my new adaptation of Christie's next Poirot book in 2024, so this would help mightily!
Remember to click that email in your inbox after you've voted to make sure your vote counts!
And thanks again for doing this! I know it is a time suck, but hopefully you're having a lazy day and looking for something to do while lying on the couch waiting for the ball to drop. (And helping out artists is SO much better than doom scrolling.)
If you ever want to learn more about my plays, you can find everything at KateDanley.com.
And, yes, I promise more novel writing in 2024! The "To Be Written" goals are the final Maggie and the next mystery in the Paige Comber series under my Agatha Ball pen name.
Charging into 2024 like a gladiator! Argh!
