Calligraphy tip: For my style, I limit the amount of ink on the brush. Before it touches paper, I blot it on the side of the inkwell or a sponge when I do watercolor. I don't typically do test strokes on paper. I like to be surprised on the final product. As the stroke fades, you can see the action. Each stroke is a timeline of life. It features illustrations of different ethnic groups around the region. Because these images were created by colonizers, do we not use it for research? Do we on the "flip side" kiss their asses for documenting and saving remnants of our culture? Hell no. It cannot be denied that the main reason for their tedious documentation of our culture and others was to eventually conquer it. Not just taking land but the soul of the future generations. In order to do that, you need to study your target. A well rounded culture bearer also studies the hell of their colonizers. They even look at their own role as neo-colonizers to other people. Study white supremacy and your role in it. Then you take that knowledge and create your own story and movement to better your family and people.
