‘Fake it till’ you make it’ doesn’t build confidence.
It destroys it.
It isn’t building self-esteem.
It is a band-aid on a broken arm.
Because it creates a false sense of confidence.
One that is based on a lie.
We put on a persona.
Wear a mask.
A Character.
And ‘hope’ no one will notice.
Sometimes, it works.
So we think:
“This will help me build confidence!”
Wrong.
The only thing it does is delay the moment you’ll have to face reality.
Reality is made up of days where:
You don’t feel confident.
You feel like an imposter.
The fear is paralyzing.
So how to we show up with confidence even if we don’t necessarily feel it?
Here is exactly how to fix it (step by step)
1.Obsess About Improvement
Confidence is built on the foundation of progress.
The better we become, the more confident we will feel.
Obsess about getting better.
Obsess about improving.
It is where confidence starts.
2. Expect Judgement
Haters are everywhere.
And they are going nowhere.
You can’t avoid judgement.
Instead, expect it.
Don’t act surprised when it comes. (Because it will)
When you know it’s coming, you’re more ready to handle it.
3. Lead With Authenticity
In a world that will be replaced my A.I., what can’t be replaced is YOU.
Bring your full self to the table.
It is what people are looking for.
They don’t want the filtered version of you.
They want the real you.
4. Work on What YOU Think of You
People are not thinking of you.
They are thinking about themselves.
Instead of worrying about what everyone else thinks.
Focus on what YOU think of you.
The self-talk you have on a daily basis.
It makes the difference in how you see yourself.
5. Be Friends With Failure
Failure is our co-pilot.
Growth requires us to consistently fail.
To learn from it and be excited by it.
Confident people have a great relationship with failure.
Make it a part of your life.
In a world where so much is artificially manufactured,
The biggest gift you can give the world is the real YOU.
Which step do you think is the most important?
