Instagram LogoAs many of you will know… i recently competed in the turf games competition which was one of the most exhilarating experiences I’ve had. On 48 hours notice out of 650 Athletes 125 Teams We placed in the top 28% 35/125 I’m immensely proud of us the fucking massive effort our team put in on such short notice and how well we all did! As much as it’s all joy and pride there is also deep frustration to do better and compete better and I will hold myself to what comes natural to me. To compete to the death 💀🔥 I’ve analysed the performance on these deadlifts and I’m fuming I didn’t go lighter after pulling 190kg for 3… I should have gone 200 for 3 as opposed to stupidly going 220 failing on 2/3 reps then not respecting rest and going for 210… and again failing on 2/3 reps… You only get points for 3 reps 🥲🥲🥲 This little window has taught me so much about what turns me on 👀 as a human… I feel so much energy about competing so I’m just going to find more and more ways to lean into this energy. I for a long time have needed to find new and novel ways to keep health as a priority in my life… when I was fat it was so much easier 😅 My thighs rubbing together, my trousers splitting or feeling embarrassed when I would be out of breath running for a bus was such an easy motivator to change. When your t shirts don’t fit you or you need to wear a really big waist size… made it so easy to show up and workout. The only thing that actually got me into fitness was desperately trying to get stronger than Yomi… Now I understand to make this a lifelong love… competition must be an ingredient and to that I thank @optimumnutrition_uk and @turfgames for getting me involved in this competitive chaos. To 220 deadlift for 3… you may have bested me today shall destroy you and I can’t wait to come back and compete again 🔥🔥🔥💦 “Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.” —Truman Capote Failure is a wonderful teacher… LFG 🔥🚀
