WHAT I’M WORKING ON
My next single “Puerto Rican Blue” is 65% done!
I’m more excited about it and proud of it than anything else I’ve ever worked on.
Muse @ Heidi Siberon (my fiancé 👰🏻♀️🤵🏼♂️😍).
What do you think of this album-art concept?

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
One of my best posts from Instagram, featuring a Brandon Thomas and I playing Maxwell’s “Ascension” at a small outdoor show near Ponce City Market in Atlanta.

YOU’VE GOTTA HEAR THIS...
“erase me” by Lizzy McAlpine
Melody at 💯
Groove at 💯
Lizzy at 1,000 🤯!
Featuring multi-instrumental phenom/inexplicable genius Jacob Collier in a refreshingly subtle but unmistakably Jacobian supporting role, Lizzy Mcalpine‘s “erase me” is 3:35 of pure 🔥.

JON COLE PRIMER

Three of my original songs that you won't find anywhere else at the moment.

A EXCELLENT SHORT BOOK ON MUSIC & WISDOM
Days after I read this beautiful book I attended a jam session at one of the last real jazz clubs in Atlanta, the now closed-down Churchill’s Grounds.
I couldn’t afford the ticket to see Wynton and his big-band playing at the Woodruff Arts down the street (probably couldn’t afford the two drunk minimum at the club either but 🤷🏼♂️).
At about 11:15 that Tuesday night I sat, with my name coming due on the jam session players list as Wynton Marsalis - arguably the greatest loving ambassador of traditional jazz walked in the room.
Scared me to death!
And then Wynton played (and I didn’t - thank God) and I listened as all of the insight and depth of his writing took the form of mind-bending sound.
I’ll never forget it.

Suggested pairing…
“Sunflowers” is my favorite song, but the entire album is gorgeous.

A QUOTE TO THINK ON
“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world”.
-C.S. Lewis, “Mere Christianity”
*Note: there are few books that I would recommend in the same breath as Mere Christianity - and I suggest you read it with highlighter in hand.
In this particular work we witness Lewis’ ability to unpack complex, existential questions and explain them so that the answers seem to have been sitting there in your mind all along.

As always, thank you for reading...it really does mean the 🌎 !
Warmly,
