Hey Breakfast Clubbers!
It's been a minute! But I'm really excited to see you again on 4/26 at 9am Central.
This month, our theme is: Taking The Fall, Gracefully (It's about strength & eccentric control)
On my 48th birthday this past weekend, I took a nasty fall on an uneven sidewalk. Now, I don't drink, and while I was wearing sensible-ish shoes, I'm chalking it up to a construction fluke. Here's the thing. I'm totally fine, which I credit largely to my strength training (as well as a background in modern dance - thanks Martha Graham!)
After the blood stopped flowing - I'm kidding, there wasn't any - I got to thinking about some ways I could integrate the strategies that helped me fall gracefully into our reformer class and now I'M PSYCHED!!! I hope you are, too.
Your April playlist is up and I'll follow up with a reminder on the 26th. Please note that normally we'll move around the 3rd Saturday, but since Easter falls during that weekend this year, I moved it a little to account for Holiday plans. 🐣
Whether you're joining us live or watching the replay, here's a rundown again of what to expect:
- Community Movement: This is a group experience, a chance to move together. While I'll be guiding you, I won't be able to see everyone individually. Think of it as a shared journey, not a one-on-one session or workshop.
- Housekeeping & Guidelines: I'll start with some important info to make sure everyone has a smooth and enjoyable experience.
- Reformer Focus: We'll be working with creative takes on the classics, accounting for whatever reformer you have (I'll be on the Allegro, but no fancy footbar tricks, I promise!). We are keeping it classic and effective.
- Your Body, Your Rules: The most important thing is to take care of yourself. This is about you, not a perfect representation of the method. Feel free to modify anything that doesn't feel right.
- Mobility & Variations: We'll be working comprehensively, but I've added some extra mobility exercises to keep us feeling good. You might see some variations, or even variations on variations, so keep an open mind and get ready to play!
- Playlist & Music Cues: If you're moving with music, I'll give you a countdown to press play. If not, don't worry! I might reference the music, but it won't affect your workout.
- Minimal Transitions & Camera Angles: I'll be keeping transitions minimal without a lot of spring switches, and I'll be using a switcher with multiple camera angles to give you the best views possible.
- Chat & Questions: We'll have a chat open! I'll be answering questions after class. During class, I won't be able to see the chat, so if you have any urgent concerns, please email me [email protected]
- Time & Replay: Class will be approximately 55 minutes, but I might run a little longer for announcements tomorrow. Remember, the replay will be available for a full month!
Get ready to jump in and move with us! I'm so excited to share this experience with you.
See you soon,
Jenna
