Memoirs, Essays, and True Stories, Oh My

It's been a hot minute since I posted anything about my nonfiction, and with the holidays coming (and with so many of you new to this newsletter), I just wanted to give a little reminder in case anyone wants to purchase nonfiction books for gifts.
I've written several books with true stories. (P.S. They're all on Kindle Unlimited if you've got it, so you can read there for free if that's your thing.)
The most recent is a collection of essays, written with my husband. It's called Pulse: A Paramedic's Walk Along the Lines of Life and Death. My husband is--you guessed it--a paramedic. This is a collection of essays about his work. It's real and it's raw, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but in the end beautiful.
Secondly, I wrote my friend, Laura's story, about her drug use, addiction, and eventual recovery. The book is called Four Seconds. It's a powerful book about coming back after making a lot of mistakes, about healing a life. Laura is over 20 years sober now, and her story is well worth reading.
The final and smallest book is my own tiny collection of essays about my mother--her cancer and the bright spots we sometimes found in that difficult time. Hugging Death: Essays on Motherhood and Saying Goodbye. I'm not sure it's a perfect Christmas book per se, because it's a book of loving and grieving. But I wanted to include it here too.
