Coach,
The first forward pass in a football game was competed on September 5th, 1906. While we aren't sure what the exact route concept was, we doubt anyone was tagging benders, clearing out, or looking for open access.
As we know, the game has evolved significantly, and staying ahead of or at least at the pace of that change is important for any coach at any level.
The JMO Pass Game Bundle offers the following courses for your study (Linked course titles include a free segment of the video for your viewing)
- Must Have Quick Game Game: Stick, Snag, and Spacing

- The Pass Pro Manual
- The Curl-Flat Concept with Variations in the Multiple Spread
- 4 Vertical Passing Game with Switch Routes and Tags
