YOU CAN GROW BEYOND THIS CRISIS
KAMUSTA? How are you these days? How are you taking this crisis and ECQ?
Personally, it has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me most especially as a professional speaker and facilitator because my events got cancelled and because of this I got worried about how I can provide for my family and sustain the advocacies we are building. I felt small and started to shrink as if fear was choking me faster than the virus. I felt powerless and hopeless thinking on how I could ever bounce back from this crisis. By God’s grace, I had an awakening when I was playing with my daughter and at one point she looked at me and through her eyes she was saying: Never give up, Dad. Those were the words that I needed to receive to get back up and that was my turning point; from shrinking I made a decision to SHIFT by having a new perspective about this obstacle that is before me but this time seeing the opportunities around me. And then I recalled what has been my constant companion to thrive not just survive during trying times and that is having a growth mindset all along which simply means that no matter what crisis that I am going through this will either make me bitter or BETTER. I have the power to choose on what rules over my life. And yes, I chose to become better, stronger and wiser. As of this writing, things around me are still uncertain but one thing is for sure I am growing in this season.
