Innerbloom Ketamine Therapy
August 2024
This month, Innerbloom celebrates its two-year anniversary! It’s incredible to reflect on the many patients we’ve treated and the truly remarkable transformations we’ve witnessed. I’m continually inspired by the ever-evolving field of psychedelic medicine, which motivates me to keep learning and enhancing my practice every day. Although the industry has faced some setbacks—most recently, the FDA’s decision to block approval for MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD—I’m confident that psychedelic therapy is here to stay. It has been a privilege to collaborate with so many dedicated individuals in our community as we work together to build a brighter future for mental health care and awareness.

Get to know what inspired me to leave my surgical practice and transition to a full-time career in ketamine therapy. I'm still a trauma doctor at heart—just with a shift from saving lives on the operating table to healing minds through a new kind of trauma care.

🗞️ NEWS
FDA Denies Approval of MDMA-Assisted Therapy—But There's Still Hope
Despite two Phase 3 trials showing promising results for the treatment of PTSD with MDMA-assisted therapy, the FDA remains unconvinced, citing that the current data does not sufficiently demonstrate efficacy and safety. As a result, the FDA has requested additional clinical trials, which will likely delay any potential approval by several years.
While I share in the disappointment of this news, I urge anyone struggling with PTSD not to wait for MDMA approval. Why? Because ketamine therapy is already available, legal, and a much safer option. We have seen countless patients experience remarkable relief and breakthroughs from their PTSD, especially when ketamine is combined with ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. 📕 BOOK RECOMMENDATION
Tuesdays with Morrie is a book I revisit every few years when I find myself getting caught up in the rat race of life and need a reminder of what’s truly important. The story follows the author’s reconnection with his former college professor, Morrie Schwartz, who is dying from ALS. They meet every Tuesday, where Morrie shares life lessons on love, work, family, and facing death. Through their conversations, Mitch gains insights into what it means to live a meaningful life, emphasizing the value of human connection and prioritizing what truly matters.
