Welcome to the December 1st edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.
This was a great week.
No because of what I achieved. Rather, it was because of the people I spoke with.
I had calls with my business coach and spiritual director.
I was beginning to feel overwhelmed by the things I was seeing and hearing.
A case of the road not taken.
Wondering what could have been better if I had taken a different road, made a different choice or lived a different life.
I ended the week with a bigger sense of the future.
Why?
Because the road I took is the road I am meant to take to become the person I am today.
My life is firstly not about what I get from the life I live, it is about who I become and the relationships I experience.
And I don’t think I would have it any other way.
Earlier this year, I was speaking to a friend who occupies a significant role in a large faith-based organisation in Nigeria.
When he found out I had a spiritual director, he was excited. According to him, that is something he would have loved to have. In his words, “this is something you had access to because you lived out of the country.”
And so I am grateful for the life I have lived and I look forward to the life I will be creating.
With support from my coach, mentor and spiritual director.
Things I Learnt
1 – When the Overwhelm Comes: I already spoke about the overwhelm. Before I got to speak with my support, I got myself a bit over the finish line.
One of the things I do most evenings is take walks. I do these walks in either silence or listening to learning experiences.
Maybe because of the things on my mind, I have been doing a lot more in silence.
At some point, I turned all my affection to God and blurted out what has now become my daily prayer afterwards.
“Lord, give me the faith to hold on to the words you have spoken over me and the peace to rest in your promises for me”
When I said the prayer, I felt a sense of relief.
Now it’s part of my daily prayers.
It gives me assurance in what God is doing in me.
2 – Starting a new Season: I am starting a new season of life. Each new season, I have a word that defines how I lead my life.
My word for this new season is REST.
I don’t know the full picture of how it will evolve, and I am looking forward to it.
A new season at work.
A new season to live out a simple word.
Postscript
May you find the words that motivate you to keep pushing forward when things get tough. Amen
