Not too long ago I was having a conversation with a friend.
It was more of a consultation.
She was at a crossroad in her career.
A huge part to her felt she had limited options for her career going forward.
Why?
Because she had worked in the not-for-profit sector most of her work life.
So, we did an inventory of her work history.
She wanted to focus the conversation of what she did. I told her that we needed to move it to how she did what she did.
This is the sweet spot.
What she did is role-specific but how she did it, creates endless possibilities.
By the time we were done, she could see a future for herself in multiple sectors if she wanted.
Endless possibilities for the future has a way of creating new motivations.
How do you do what you do at work?
