Welcome to the March 20th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week
I continue in the faith fight of one step at a time.
This is what I can call this season of my life.
God has promised something but I have been denied twice. Yet I believe it is what God wants for me and my family.
So, we go for it a third time.
This time, we have the slimmest chance of success. But the greatest sense of confidence in God's ability to fulfill His promise.
And a constant sense of fear, wondering if it will happen the way God has promised.
My home church in Nigeria is organizing a 24-hour prayer chain via zoom for most of March.
This has been an encouragement to me. Praying with others has helped me to fight the nagging fear that rises in ebbs and flows to try and overwhelm me.
Today, I decided to put up a calendar that I will mark up.
Every day that we continue to stay in the game, I will mark it as another success point on this journey.
Until we get to the end game and reach the fulfillment of the promise of God.
My faith will not yield.
I will hold on to God's promise.
And believe He is faithful.
As He has always been.
Things I Learnt
1- When Experiences Become Prejudices: I was chatting with an acquaintance who is a strong example of a professional woman reaching the pinnacle in the professional world.
She had spoken at a conference which my wife watched. I had listened to some of the responses she gave and complimented her for this and the role model she represents.
She expressed appreciation for my compliments, especially for some of what she said at the conference.
According to her, she had gotten some flack for it.
Some of the women thought she was giving men an easy pass.
She had said that during a transitional phase in her life, she had to ask her husband to help in taking up some additional responsibilities at home.
The supportive husband graciously obliged.
According to her, some of the women felt she was making it easy for other husbands. The husbands should know and not have to be told.
There was an underlying assumption by some of the women that husbands are insecure when their wives are succeeding in their professional careers.
And some of them have had bad experiences.
But as she said, her experience has not been this. And she can only speak from her experience.
She also cannot hold her husband to the fire if she does not allow him to respond to her requests.
We cannot prejudice others based on our experiences of life.
We must make room for a different worldview
2-Confidently Saying Rubbish: A guy who shows up on social media now and again to let me know that Christianity is not true sent me a video link during the week.
I deferred watching it because I figured it was going to be a waste.
Anyway, I decided to watch it.
The video made me laugh.
It wasn’t a comedy Skitch.
It was an amusing display of ignorance.
In trying to refute Christianity, the speaker showed a lack of interest in verifying the things he was speaking about.
A simple google search could have even addressed some of the things he was saying.
He was speaking with so much confidence as he was selling rubbish as truth.
His confidence convinced the guy who sent the video to me.
It’s a confidence game.
Now and again, I see this so often. People say dumb things with confidence and sell them to their audience.
I remind myself to commit to discovering the truth.
No matter the charisma of the person speaking.
Only truth sets free.
Postscript
May your heart always remain confident in the promises God has given you. May the situation you face not cause you to think anything can stop God from fulfilling His promises. Amen
