Welcome to the December 22nd edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.
Someone remarked to me at the office that she was zoned out for the year.
According to her, she was literally going through the motions as the holidays got closer.
Interesting, it’s different for me. It’s probably because I started my new year in October.
Yes, I’m running with a different calendar and I’m already working on my new season’s goals months earlier.
During the week, I got some additional ideas for some of my goals. These are the goals from the new season that started in October 2024.
I’m still committed to enjoying the holidays. Yes, I’m fully focused on enjoying the time with my family.
This is how I redeem the time. I invest all I am into each moment I have.
When it’s holidays with the family, I’m fully committed to it. And when it’s pursuing the goals and big dreams, I’m fully committed to it.
I will keep showing up as my best in every one of them.
No napping on duty for me.
Things I Learnt
1. I Choose Trust: someone in the extended family sent gifts for our kids. I was going to travel with the gifts to meet up with the family.
She had taken the time to wrap the gifts, so when I received them, I called to thank her.
She told me what was wrapped in the gifts and said I could remove the wrapping so I could confirm.
I told her I would not do that. It would be pointless ruining the effort she had put into it.
I know the usual thing you will remind me of, especially the videos circulating on social media.
This was a relative I had known for years and in this matter, I chose to trust her.
No matter how bad the world gets, some relationships will remain honourable enough to earn my trust in certain matters.
And yes, I arrived at my destination without any incident.
2 - Always Show up: While doing a review of my outgoing year, one thing stood out for me - I showed up more in the areas I wanted to matter more.
Showing up meant I had access to opportunities I wouldn’t have had if I sat back.
It’s a reminder to me that doors will open when I knock at more doors.
Not just more doors - the right doors.
One of the things that my business coach always says is “Don’t just aim to be known, aim to be known by the right people.”
He is not big on having a huge following in the multiple millions - he is big on focusing on the important hundreds that will build your practice.
And so I am actively committed to showing up in ways that align with my few.
Postscript
May you have the discipline to keep your attention on the few matters you need to be good at. Amen
