The feedback I have been getting since the release of the book “Winning Beyond Borders: Achieving Success at Work in a New Country” has been heart-warming.
Someone from the US said it didn’t feel like a book written by an African. It had a universal appeal to people from around the world—her words, not mine.
Whew!!! That was great. I am glad I dodged the bullet of having the book typecast.
Yes, I am African. And the varied experiences I have had make me a global citizen.
So, I write as an African for a global audience.
Three days ago, someone else from the US reached out and asked me to consider interpreting the book into other languages.
His words “This is an immigrant book and there are many who enter America that need to read this book”
Interpreting the book wasn’t on my horizon. Maybe, in the future - time will tell.
