Happy Sunday to you.
For years Sunday was a service day for me. Aside from attending service, I was also serving.
I was once an altar server but my longest service in Church has been in the choir. This streak continued until 5 years ago. I haven’t rocked the joint with a choir since then due to work and family-life transitions.
I have a more personal reason for always being in the choir.
It’s down to when I first became born-again and I was growing in my walk with God. I heard God tell me that when I join a church, I had the option of either being in a choir or the drama group.
His reason – He wanted me to learn how to walk with people and not be a lone-ranger. These groups work in teams and not as individuals.
I liked both options but drama groups did not always perform every Sunday. The choir offered me a more continuous practice of working as part of a team since they had to serve almost every Sunday.
And that is how I have always joined the choir to build up my sense of group work ahead of solo work.
