Faith & Life Lessons – July 13, 2025

Welcome to the July 13th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.

On Sunday, while at church, my mind was thinking about the team I should volunteer to serve in at church.

Yes, this is one of the things that come with joining a new church.

I won’t go into the details now of how we got into this again. I shared that a few weeks back.

Back to the mind flow on what team to join.

I zoned in on a potential team. The team was shorthanded.

The only problem.

God wasn’t letting me do that.

More than that, He didn’t let me serve in any team in the church.

Why?

He wants me to invest my time doing ministry outside of my Church.

It’s a lot harder work. It’s easier to serve within a structure that has been built up than to serve while building your own structure.

I have no idea how this will evolve, but I love the adventure of going into this.

Trusting and Obeying.

Things I Learnt

1-Simple & Less is Better: I spoke at a retreat during the week. I did my stuff in 19 minutes or less.

The feedback I got was great.

One thing I have adopted is to keep my presentations or trainings focused on one simple idea.

The human mind can’t take too much information, so I have committed to sharing one simple idea when I get in front of people.

It’s the same thing I do at the trainings I host.

One simple idea that people can implement immediately.

Information is freely available online.

Transformation…that’s the solo ground.

This is where I play.

You won’t find that online. That’s in the stuff I bring.

2 - Nothing Like Faith in Tough Times: I was speaking with a friend who is going through a bit of a challenging season of life.

Through it all, she has a word from God to do something that will require even more faith from her.

She is committed but at peace. Despite the not-so-good events that have happened to her, she continues to hold on to the word, trusting God for its fulfillment as she takes action.

Talking to her was good for my soul.

Sometimes, we get encouragement from listening to others who are going through a similar journey as we are

Postscript

May you find people around you who encourage you when the road gets tough. Amen
