Welcome to the February 26th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week
Yesterday was the Presidential election in my country Nigeria.
It's one of the most closely contested elections in recent times.
Furthermore, it's the first presidential election in recent times where Nigeria hasn't had a former military general on the ballot.
For a country like Nigeria, that's progress.
I am passionate about my country.
Not just because I come from there.
It's also because I have a bit of insight into a bit of God's plan for nations.
And Nigeria has a role to play in it.
It's not the usual promise-of-something-great-about-the-country plan.
It's something more specific.
At a point yesterday, I was nervous.
It had less to do about the candidates and more to do about the country walking in the next phase of God's plan for it.
I was not this nervous during the last election - even though I also heard the role that the country would play as a result of the elections.
Yesterday, I eventually calmed myself by reminding myself of the teachings I had done on God's will.
God has one will. The will is executed either as God's desires or God's judgements.
Let me explain.
In 2 Peter 3:9,(The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.), we are introduced to God's desire - not wanting anyone to perish.
But if "everyone" does not come to repentance, they perish.
And both outcomes are God's will.
He is both the saviour and the judge.
Both are expressions of His one WILL to the world.
And that's where I sit.
God's WILL will be done in Nigeria - either as expressions of His Desires for the country or declarations of His Judgement over the country.
I keep pursuing His desires for my country.
Things I Learnt
1-Focus on Compounding Effect: I was looking at a political leader during the week coming up to push a couple of his plans forward.
A couple of thoughts came to mind - the power of compounding.
This guy got to where he was by making small steps.
The impact of the small steps compounded to bring him to where he is.
It brought my mind to a Bill Gates quote - “Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.”
I am re-energised to pursue and keep at the small habits that I am doing daily.
They will compound into something bigger in the future.
2-Train People to Succeed With What I Have Succeeded With: During a call with my coach, I mentioned routinely a practice that I developed over the last 5 months.
He stopped me and asked what impact it had made in my life.
I responded.
Then he said, "You need to teach it."
I never thought about this until he said so.
But it is probably one of the best motivations to train others.
Training people based on where I have succeeded gives them a good platform on which to build their success from.
Postscript
May you never live your life under the fear of what may not happen for you because of what others need to do. May you always live in confidence of what God can do through you when you step out to do what you need to do. Amen
