Welcome to the December 21st edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.
Howdy ,
This week, God kept bringing me back to a simple idea: obedience first, outcomes later.
I saw it at work, at home, and in my own head.
And I am being reminded that peace and rest are not a reward. They are part of the assignment.
The Story of My Week.
Work was full. Not just meetings, but moments where you see the real issues under the surface.
One of the big themes was alignment. Sales targets are one thing, but the question is always: what kind of support does the strategy actually require?
I also had a leadership moment that reminded me how much people carry. I wrote personal notes to team members, and the feedback that stayed with me was simple: “It was good to be seen.” That sentence has been sitting with me.
Spiritually, I have been thinking a lot about the kind of year 2026 will be.
I keep saying the same words: accelerated progress and high visibility. But I am holding it with a posture I want to protect: peace and rest.
Not forcing. Not wrestling life to the ground. Moving with God.
Things I Learnt
1-Obedience is the reward: This week reminded me that obedience is not a strategy. It is a relationship.
There are times God leads in ways you do not fully understand in the moment.
But later, you realize it was protective. It was merciful. It was wisdom.
I want to return to a simpler kind of faith: do what He says, and let Him carry the outcomes.
Scripture anchor: 1 Samuel 15:22
But Samuel replied: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
2-Peace and rest are part of the assignment: I am paying attention to how I carry responsibility.
I have a lot to do, and that is real. But overwhelm cannot become normal.
Peace and rest do not mean I am doing nothing.
It means I am building a pace that can sustain family, calling, and integrity at the same time.
Scripture anchor: Matthew 11:28–30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Practice for the Week
Reflect: Where have I been trying to force an outcome that God is asking me to trust?
Pray: Lord, give me the grace to obey quickly, and the peace to leave results with You.
Act: Pick one small act of obedience you have been postponing and do it today. Keep it simple. One phone call. One apology. One clear decision. One quiet yes.
Want extra accountability?
Hit reply and tell me in one sentence: what is one thing you feel God is asking you to obey or simplify this week?
Postscript
May God give you clarity, steady courage, and a soft heart this week. Amen
