Welcome to the February 5th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week
Monday was my birthday.
No, I don’t have a big day of feasting and banquets.
Just a quiet celebration with folks at work and my family.
A friend of mine called to wish me a happy birthday.
We had a friendship that spanned over two decades so we were pretty close.
She gave me some advice.
She thought this was a good time for me to consider having a permanent base for my family.
My work had moved us across three countries, two continents and two language transitions.
She felt I had served my time with the company and should consider a more permanent transition.
In her words, America is looking for people and I should consider moving there.
She and her family live there - for almost a decade and a half.
A bit of very logical advice.
The only issue - I am running with a different drum rhythm.
When I was in the 1st year of my undergraduate studies, I got a prophecy that God was going to send me to the nations of the world. Later on, I got the clarity that my life would not involve a pulpit role.
About 20 years after that prophecy, l started living it out as my work took me out of the country of my birth.
Because of the prophecy, I have also not gone to Nigerian churches in the countries I live in.
I chose international churches - I get to serve and work with multiple nations through this decision.
Last year, I got another prophecy about where we would eventually settle as a family.
It's a prophecy that is for the future.
A prophecy that will fulfil itself as long as I continue to remain faithful to what God has given me today.
Everyday.
I was discussing this with my wife and I told her.
The security and prosperity of us, our children, grandchildren and the generations that come after us is not about the place we plant ourselves but in our obedience to God's will.
When Abraham left the Ur of the Chaldeans, he left a developed society with houses to be living in tents for the rest of his life.
But his obedience carved a spiritual pathway for the prosperity of his subsequent generations.
And that is what I want to do.
With the decisions, I make every day.
With my life.
Knowing that God's Will prospers in me,
Opens a pathway for prosperity for my generations.
Things I Learnt
1-There is Always a Second Opportunity: I bet you have always heard that opportunity never comes a second time.
Well, that's a small way to look at it.
Opportunities always come more than once - if you understand opportunities.
They don't come the same way they came the first time because they will demand more of you.
Or sometimes less of you.
A few weeks ago, I was speaking with my coach about an offer that I saw which might help my practice improve.
It was going for a great deal. He told me to wait.
According to him, I might get a better deal on Black Friday
I waited.
Guess what, the opportunity rolled again this week.
It was better than the first offer - I paid just about $5 for it.
But it is not the price I paid that is the beauty of the whole thing.
It's the fact that I had become better in the waiting.
I was not the same person I was when the initial offer was made.
Opportunities do roll around again.
2-Be Known for Action - I had a meeting with a senior government official.
I was superbly impressed with the way he handled every single matter we discussed.
Once we raised a point, he would immediately call someone who should be responsible for attending to it.
He did not postpone any point we raised, he acted on it.
I learnt that lesson from the short time I had with him.
It's something I want to live by.
Postscript
May you always remember that the decisions you make now are not just for today. May you remember the value those decisions will have for the generations that come after you. Amen
