Welcome to the August 23rd edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.
The Story of My Week.
God makes times and seasons.
Towards the end of last year, I heard God tell me that I was going into a season of significant visibility.
I have always been ok with doing things in the background.
Looks like the play for this season is different.
I have been getting invitations coming my way. Yes, I didn't look for them; they come.
I have seen a few more in recent times come my way. On Saturday, I went to speak to a group. Later in the evening, I checked my email; another invitation had come.
It is comforting to be able to respond to these invitations based on the clarity I have from understanding what season of life I am playing in.
The invitations have played to the message that God has given me for my life, work and ministry.
They are one.
I am grateful for the clarity that came before coming into this season.
It helps a lot
Things I Learned
1- There Are Opportunities If We Keep Knocking: A member of my team gave me an update about a company they just got inroads into.
They had previously pitched but got silence.
By knocking on some more doors, they eventually got the one that opened.
A reminder that opportunities will come if we keep knocking.
2-Meditating & Listening: Some of the best ideas this week have come from listening and meditating.
Not just listening to anyone... but the right voices.
This is so important. In an age of so many voices to listen to, choosing the right ones is a skill.
A skill that must be honed every day.
I'm glad I got a few of those voices this week. They helped me
And meditating on God's voice. His word
Life and healing.
Postscript
May your attention be focused on the right things. Amen
