Welcome to the May 4th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.
During the week, I had a meet-up with the guys on my paid mastermind.
This is one that I pay to be part of. I am the youngest in the group. Our group of 6, plus our spiritual director, makes 7, a combination of different vocations, including pastors.
We have grandfathers, empty-nesters, and everyone else in between.
I am always learning from everyone else at the table.
I’m also the only non-American. So, I don’t get all the jokes that get thrown about now and again.
We celebrated one of us who just had a wedding for his daughter.
But I love the life that this group puts into me.
They help to renew and refresh me.
They are a blessing to my life.
I am grateful to God that I found this group.
Things I Learnt
1 - Unusual Doors: I spent my Saturday at training with someone I met recently. Our meeting was one of those moments of serendipity that played a huge hand in it.
We first met when I attended a social function where we sat beside each other. At some point, he remarked that he could not see what was happening in front due to the lady sitting in front of him.
I offered to switch my seat with him, which he accepted.
After eating, he discovered that no serviette was provided to clean his hands. I asked him if he minded me going to the restroom to get tissue paper for him. He accepted my offer.
He was probably surprised to see a stranger who was also a guest offering to serve. It was at this point that he gave me his card and invited me to his training.
The training was an insight into his life and experiences. It was a good experience for me.
I gained from listening to him.
And he was willing to extend further engagements with him after the training.
Now I have another older and more experienced man in my circle - he is in his sixties.
And an opportunity to learn from him.
2-Prepared for the Future: Something happened during the week that I could see the difference in being prepared by God.
Yes, these are the kinds of things that happen, and you could lose a fuse or two.
But being prepared to handle it by God means the response is different.
It is better.
It reminds me of why it is important to go through the training God sets up and not try to run away from them.
God trains us to make us ready for the challenges we will face.
So we can respond better to them.
Postscript
May you courageously face the challenges that will make you stronger for the future. Amen
