Welcome to the October 12th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.
Planting, not harvesting.
There were a few things I am involved in that I did a review of during the week.
I expected more outcomes from them.
I heard this thought - it must be a God-inspires one.
You are planting, not harvesting. This changed my whole perspective on what I am doing.
The outcomes I expect should not be for the present. They should be for the future. And what I expect today will become irrelevant in the bigger future.
Now, I am letting myself be confident in what I am doing, knowing that today's outcomes are my planting, not my harvest.
Things I Learnt
1-Results First Not Efforts: This is one of the most difficult things that I had to pass on.
Again.
Why?
Most people praise themselves based on their efforts, not the results they are meant to deliver.
Not me.
And I try to make sure the people under me don't do that.
It's hard work. Looking at results and not efforts.
For myself and for others.
2-Keep and Share the Stories: I was listening to Pastor Godman Akinlabi of The Elevation Church in Lagos, Nigeria, share some stories from the early days of the church.
The church was celebrating its 15th anniversary, so it was a great time to reminisce.
As I listened to him share the stories, I wondered why some of these stories were not shared more often.
My reason?
These stories give more room for deeper engagement with the vision of the church.
These were not fancy stories. They were down-in-the-trenches stories. These kinds of stories tell the tales of "where the church has been", "how we decided to do this and that", and so much.
They also help to create new, deeper faith experiences.
We should be collecting and sharing our faith stories.
They are new anchors to build each other up.
Postscript
May you never forget your stories, which remind you of God's ability to create great outcomes in your life. Amen
