Welcome to the September 24th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week
The offering of SILENCE.
This was something I hadn't refreshed myself on recently.
During my weekly spiritual refresh (aka prayer & fasting day), God wanted me to be silent.
Silence was the offering for the day.
It's also a spiritual discipline.
Offering silence consistently to God has a way of nourishing the soul and renewing the heart.
It creates an oasis of tranquillity in the middle of all the loud noise all around.
My wife said someone mentioned to her that I am a quiet guy.
Nope.
I'm just a guy who through the practice of offering silence has learnt that there are some things God will take care of and others I have to take of.
And I need a clear head and a focused mind to take care of the ones that God has assigned to me.
Silence.
It helps me get that.
I also hear God through it.
I see God at work
In the SILENCE.
Through the SILENCE
Things I Learnt
1-Coaching Myself: One of the things that has helped me in life is self-coaching. Yes, I have coaches but I also know that I am my full-time coach.
Always on call to myself. If I use my coaching abilities.
This week, I decided to pull up my self-coach for a run at a couple of things I was aiming for.
One of the biggest frustrations I have had over the past couple of weeks is not closing the loop on several items I want to deliver for myself.
So, I coached myself.
I realised I was putting too many irons in the fire at the same time.
I decided to go slow so I could go fast.
Starting from the new week, I will be focusing on just 1 item to deliver - one needle-moving item.
By the end of 1 year, I would have done 52 needle-moving items.
This is the way.
This is the win.
52 completed things in a year will change the trajectory of my life.
That is what coach Tola told client Tola to do.
And that is what client Tola is doing.
2-When God Backs Your Word: There was a text in scripture that I never fully understood. It's this "The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground - 1 Samuel 3:19".
Recently I have been seeing it at play and I understand it a bit better.
God was so committed to Samuel that when he would make certain declarations, God would back it up by making sure these things happened.
I am also sure that these were not selfish declarations by Samuel - they were declarations in the service of God and His people.
Samuel did not have to say "God said xxxx". He just had to say what he wanted to happen. And God backed it because it was consistent with serving God and His people.
I have had a bit of those moments in recent times.
I have made commitments to external parties and at the time I made them, I was not sure how they would be met.
No, they were not flippant commitments. They were value-based commitments in the service of those I was making them to.
The "Samuel experience" for me was how God would orchestrate events to make sure those commitments were kept.
A case of God "letting none of those words fall to the ground."
I am learning to trust more in God's ability to empower and prosper the business I lead.
God is more concerned about the things in my hands than I could be concerned about them.
Postscript
May you boldly live and make declarations consistent with God's nature and His working in you so that He works to make sure none of your words fall to the ground unfulfilled. Amen.
