Ever question who you even ARE these days? Read on...

Hi there,
Today I am writing to you as I contemplate the journey that motherhood takes us on. I don't think anything can truly prepare you for the seismic shift that becoming a new Mum brings to your life.
One moment you're planning your weekends around catch ups with the girls for coffee, checking out that funky new neighborhood wine bar with your partner and doing sunset yoga; next thing you're hanging signs on your front door that say SHHHHHH!! Don't knock, baby sleeping! and calculating how much sleep you can squeeze in if you go to bed immediately after the bubba is settled...
Not to mention your topics of conversation have shrunk to breastfeeding, nappy changes and baby milestones, you can't remember if you showered today and getting organised enough to get out the door with bubba is so exhausting you don't feel like going anywhere...
As your baby grows and develops into new stages of childhood, you become inextricably entangled in the rhythms and patterns of someone else's life - that of your child! The person you were pre Mama feels like a distant memory, maybe even a different lifetime ago.
It can be tricky figuring out who you are these days, outside of "Mum". Heck, even remembering what you enjoy doing when you get a precious pocket of time to yourself is tricky!
Give yourself permission to reconnect with yourself. Take a moment when you can to reflect on the hobbies you loved previously, the activities you enjoyed, the things you looked forward to. Perhaps you can't replicate that old life exactly, but can you bring parts of it back for yourself?
Or can you try something new that does fit in around this new chapter of your life? Maybe joining a fellow Mama pal that's found a new passion or jumping on board when a local business offers a free trial session activity. Even turning to online tutorials to have a go at something....
Bring yourself back into the spotlight Mama. Take a moment to figure out who you are again and how you would like to be kind and compassionate to yourself these days.
Because you deserve it!
Until next week,
Michelle
