The Role Of Balance In Your Self Development
You have heard the term balance many times before, I'm going to dive deep into the nuances of what it truly means.
Balance is not a straight down the middle thing.
Life unfolds in phases, and if you are not 'happy' at any given phase this means you are UNBALANCED.
And that's not always bad.
See, If we never were out of balance, we wouldn't recognize the beauty of living a balanced life and all the benefits that come with it.
If you feel your life could be better, it's time to make changes today and start working back toward the correct homeostasis.
First of all this decision must be made, are you going to commit to building the best life you possibly can?
Life is a Game
If you don't promise yourself to aim high, at your true potential, I can't help you.
This route of becoming your best self is not for the faint of heart.
"ignorance is bliss"...
And as that line may be true in certain situations, ignorance is also hell.
This game of life is deeper than I originally imagined, way deeper than our culture wants to make it seem.
Here's a hint: Society pushes everything that numbs, distracts and deters you from pursuing your best self, chew on the reasoning behind that.
There are many beautiful aspects of culture too, I don't want you to become an extremist who hates society.
The first part of your personal development will involve you opening your eyes up to all the horrors of our world.
History has been filled with torture, slavery, starvation, genocide and other events of that nature. And it still occurs today, it's just not what they put on the news.
This should fuel you to became the best being you can, to never allow yourself to degrade into a corrupt soul.
We need a deep and powerful reason behind aiming high, as the challenges are difficult and you will have moments of doubt.
With a strong reason you will persevere.
Knowledge + Action
So you are not 'happy’?
Maybe you are happy.
Either way, balancing our life is a never ending game and happiness is a feeling that comes and goes.
You need to balance knowledge and action.
Many people fall into this never ending hole of knowledge and they don't do anything with it.
What's so valuable is to eat a clean nutritional structure and exercise daily, this allows you to FEEL better.
When you feel better you can SEE when you are getting out of balance.
You can tell when you have accumulated much knowledge and now need to begin to execute.
This reminds me of the importance of being aware and study physiology.
How certain food effects how you feel, how dopamine works, how substances effect your state of consciousness and so on.
Be willing to dive into different categories of education, there's an infinite amount of things to learn.
And trust your natural curiosities...
Easier said than done, but betting on myself and following my gut feel has been one of the most important choices I've made in my life.
The Hard Path
The secret to growth is making incremental improvements consistently over an extended time period. You start off as a fresh blank slate.
Through time you adopt habits, beliefs, bias's and other things.
Some of that which you adopt will be healthy and others not so healthy.
This is where self reflection and feeling come in, you can't improve anything that you don't accept can be improved.
Pay attention to how you feel and ask yourself the questions that will guide you to the root cause of why you feel that way.
My course has a whole section on asking better questions, I'll be making that LIVE very soon.
It can be so painful to admit that your beliefs are not serving you, this had to be one of the toughest things for me to realize.
It shatters our ego and that's the last thing the ego desires. In this life it comes down to this differentiation, DO YOU SERVE EGO OR TRUTH.
We can get so attached to our web of ideas and this is what happens to most people who live an aimless life.
Challenging our preconceived notions of how reality works is difficult and school teaches you how to be a good follower, deterring you from questioning anything.
The Phases Of Life
The cycles of life generally unfold in spans of 5-10 yrs.
I'll link an amazing video for y'all at the bottom.
There's a limbo phase, where you don't know what you are doing or what you are supposed to be doing.
This is normal!
Eventually you will get a hint, a slight push in a direction that involves you getting uncomfortable.
You'll most likely reject that opportunity the first time.
Now you will get another chance to step into the unknown and this time you take it.
Okay, we are transitioning into the next stage and you have a bit more confidence in the route you want to go.
Still full of doubt and uncertainty, but you have an IDEA.
This phase is definitely confusing.
For me I went back and fourth within my mind almost daily, what do I do...
Do I give up? Do I continue?
Well, all I can tell you is never give up.
And there's a big difference between pivoting and building skills and quitting too soon.
Most people have this issue, they think the mission is going to be quicker and easier.
It's a matter of setting the proper EXPECTATIONS, an amazing rule of thumb is to create a big picture purpose so powerful you are glad to put 10,000 hours in.
It does not have to begin this way.
My journey started so shallow it's LAUGHABLE, I wanted to get rich quick, smoke weed and have sexy girls.
What a joke hahahahahaha.
Point is, you need to persevere in this phase as you will be confused and tested constantly.
Now the third phase involves your peak, you are beginning to feel that what you are doing is right.
This feeling is golden as the prior two stages you were quite confused.
It's time to focus on consistency and the unique balance of life.
As you build up to the peak you will come across the people you need in your life, as you've already eliminated everyone who was holding you down.
Now remember, the peak is not sustainable and there will be a return back to stage 1 eventually.
Lastly we have the period where this whole cycle starts a new, you feel as if things are getting a bit stale and it's time to start a fresh mission.
This will involve being able to detach as what you've built you poured so much into, it was worth all the effort.
And this is exactly why our world has seasons too...
This is what we need.
Prioritize Balance
Balance is so complex and only you can figure out the correct path to travel down.
The foundation for me lays with a healthy body, the mind and body are linked.
No healthy body = foggy mind which can't understand it's out of balance.
Some domains everyone needs to balance:
Spirituality, business, health, social skills, the mind, physiology, and practical hands on skills.
Leave any of these out and I promise you it will be reflected in the quality of your life.
Each area will require time to build, don't think you can build all these pieces at once.
What has helped me significantly is focusing on 1-2 of these categories at a given time.
Diving deep into education for a few months – years until you feel it's time to make a transition.
I'm laying out a general framework for you, and I mention FEELING so much because that's what led me to build a life I love living.
I don't know the details of your situation so you have to do the work yourself.
To feel you have to be highly conscious, and this is why I attack distractions so much because they lower your degree of consciousness.
A low conscious mind void of feeling cannot even recognize they are heading down a dark path.
Distractions come in many forms.
Ideology, religion, materialism, friends, entertainment, substances, low level education and the list goes on.
Not saying these things can't be helpful, they definitely can.
They can't be EVERYTHING to you though...
It's so important to understand when you are in too deep within a certain domain and to begin to pivot into learning about something new.
Not a simple thing to recognize.
It takes hyper awareness to catch yourself and re align the ship.
And most people are not on a hyper aware level of consciousness, my mission is to help you raise your level of consciousness so you can craft the life of your dreams.
It's raised through first building and replacing habits with better ones, getting away from the negativity in your environment and committing to working toward your truest self day after day.
Test This Out For A Week And See How You Feel
The biggest shifts in your life will come from consistently making small adjustments overtime.
You need patience.
To be patient you need to rewire how you think about this journey you are on.
It's not about getting rich quick, drop that notion.
-Clean up your nutrition, look at junk food as poison, that's what it is.
-Less instant gratification, more focused work
-Workout / Train daily
-Get fresh air often throughout your days
-Feel when to take breaks during work periods
Eventually you'll come to see the simple life is the good life.
Don't get caught up in the hustle busy body culture, it's not healthy.
I've been working 12 hour days for a while, thing is I enjoy what I'm doing and I have a structure so it's relaxing and peaceful.
And I prioritize my health, not my work.
It goes full circle, when you are healthy you do better work.
Conclusion
I can't make your balance for you.
It will be learned through personal experience, what I want to do is give you the tools so that you can learn from experience.
Most people are so numbed and foggy minded that they don't find the lessons from their day to day lives.
Don't allow yourself to be one of these low conscious people, you have HUGE potential.
Answer in a paragraph +
-How do I feel on an hourly basis?
-How well do I manage myself?
Take some time to reflect upon your answers and aim to get to the ROOT cause behind why you feel a certain way.
Don't blame anyone but yourself.
If the environment is toxic, come up with a plan to distance yourself.
This video is amazing, will explain the phases of life.
