What's the point of gratitude?

Success and failure are out; what about gratitude?

#277 – What's the point of gratitude?

In my Yoga With Adriene session this morning, while I challenged my strength and balance with a pose where both my legs and arms were wrapped around each other –– eagle pose ––, Adriene said something along the lines of "are you determined, even if you're shaking" (I was shaking) "or are you giving up mentally?"

In that moment, with all the muscles in my body about to give out, and my gaze focused on the leaf of a plantain tree out my window, I experienced a sense of deep gratitude.

Gratitude for me, for my determination, my mind, and my muscles.

For Adriene, for putting out free videos for people anywhere to safely practice yoga in their pajamas.

For the internet, for allowing access to so many outstanding things that we didn't dream of a few decades ago.

For life. To be alive, even if it hurts at times. Even when it hurts. Even for the things and people that seem like big obstacles to my happiness and wellbeing.

Even for what looks like failure, which I know doesn't exist.

So, what's the point of gratitude? It is everything.

Thank you.

What are you grateful for?

Love,

Carolina
