What could you see if you were blind as love?

Definitely not the splinter on the other's eye

#153 – What could you see if you were blind as love?

Spiritual guides tell us that love is the answer.

If instead of focusing on the splinters we see from three miles away in other people's eyes we just loved them, we'd be happy.

One night when my son was two and half, he and I were eating dinner at the kitchen table. He was chatting about something and suddenly turned to me and said, "we're happy because we love each other" and hugged me, his eyes welling up and the corners of his mouth going down a little.

Yes, love makes us happy. Then, why do we refuse it so often?

Why do we choose to criticize, be angry, get vengeful?

Because we "see" other people's "true colors" – that's the lie our Ego makes us believe, of course. It wants us to believe it's dangerous to love everyone unconditionally.

Also, that not everyone deserves my love... The driver who drove by me this afternoon while I was still crossing the street? The client who didn't respond to my email leaving me in limbo, waiting, and making me waste two hours of my time? The manager who didn't fix my problem with a website the other day?

But I can choose not to believe my Ego and become blind to those "attacks." Because, at the end of the day, no one's going to change just because I don't love them: the driver's not going to become more compassionate, the client more efficient, or the manager more diligent.

Then, I can love everyone and be happy – even if they choose not to love me back.

What do you stand to gain when you become blind to other people's "faults?"

Love,

Carolina
