What are some signs that you don't feel worthy?

Excuses, victimhood, and powerlessness

#374 – What are some signs that you don't feel worthy?

I used to look down on people who make excuses for not following through––where "people" includes myself, whom I looked the downest on.

This morning, I recognized where these excuses come from. It's not from laziness, inherent moral flaws, or lack of determination. They come from believing the lies your Ego and the Ghosts say about you.

After doing a Joe Dispenza guided meditation that specifically asked that I feel "worthy to receive," I went for a run. I noticed a tension in the right side of my waist, but dismissed it––it'd go away.

I set my watch, turned my metronome on, and started. Six seconds later, I stopped. The pain was stronger and my left leg felt weak. I stopped the watch and turned around.

My Ghost of Misplaced Shame popped into my mind––what? You're not even trying? My Ego and Ghost of Need to Prove reminded me of all my followers on Strava (like, three)––a six-second run?

But then, my True Self's calm, powerful whisper emerged: how about yoga today? You deserve to run without pain.

Right! I didn't need to come up with an excuse for "not following through," because I'm in my personal power when I decide to do yoga instead of running. I didn't need to feel like a victim because I'm at choice.

I'm not giving in to an Ego-Ghosts excuse or giving up because of fear. I'm tuning into myself and choosing what's best in this moment.

Because I'm worthy to chart my own path instead of following what the Ego-Ghosts decide for me.

What 'excuses' will you turn into the signs of self-respect they really are, instead of feeling victimized by circumstance?

Love,

Carolina
