Pool Updates

Here’s a summary of the key issues...

Dear Members of the HPOA,

I wanted to provide an update on the delay in opening the pool this year. On behalf of the board, I apologize for the inconvenience. When we emptied the pool to repair the tile work, we encountered several unexpected issues.

Given the pool’s age, some challenges were unforeseeable. We are working diligently to address these and get the pool ready for everyone’s enjoyment.

Here’s a summary of the key issues:

1. Key Fob System Replacement: Our system management company recently alerted us to the need for a replacement. Unfortunately, we received short notice, complicating our planning.

2. Pool Repairs: Draining the pool revealed cracks in the plaster due to groundwater beneath. Additionally, a break-in at the pool house filter room resulted in the theft of our salt generator, further delaying progress.

3. Personal Commitments: Several board members and our pool chair have faced personal commitments, limiting our capacity to provide detailed updates sooner. Hence, we sent a brief statement last week to keep everyone informed.

Rest assured, we are working tirelessly to open the pool soon. We are installing a sturdier door with extra deadbolts in the filter room and adding more cameras to enhance security, including coverage of previously unmonitored areas.

We understand that written updates can’t replace the enjoyment of using the pool. Please bear with us as we navigate these challenges. The salt generator will be delivered tomorrow, and we aim to have the pool inspected and opened sometime this week. We will provide another update by Tuesday morning at the latest.

A reminder: the pool is currently not open for use. Please refrain from entering the pool area. Additionally, smoking, vaping, and similar activities are prohibited in the pool, on the pool deck, and in the pavilion.

We recently encountered an incident of graffiti on the pool fence. This is unprecedented in my 10 years in this neighborhood. We ask everyone to keep an eye on the pool area and report any suspicious activity. The pool is for everyone’s enjoyment, so let’s take care of it together.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. Please email us with any specific questions.

Best regards,

Randy Wilburn
