3-Point Thursday #236

Apr 09, 2021 2:01 am

Hey,

Good evening to ya, hoping I've caught you just before bed, if not, good morning!

This week's 3-pointer:

🎙 Podcast suggestions for #100?

With episode 99 running slightly behind schedule (hoping it'll still be out before the end of this week - if all goes to plan, we should be hitting episode #100 of the pod next week! I have a pretty good idea of the direction I'm gonna head in, but would like to open it up to the floor if there are any better suggestions - so if you have anything you'd particularly like to see for episode 100 - a particular subject, roundtable discussion, or guest (though needs to be a *big* one!), please reply to this email and let me know!

🏆Hannah Jump wins NCAA title!

A pretty historic moment as Hannah Jump won the NCAA Tournament with Stanford in the early hours of Monday morning after a dramatic 54-53 victory over Arizona in the title game. The former England Under-16 international is believed to make history in being the first British female winner. Big time!

📰 British Basketball's potential has never been greater

This article in the Independent has been doing the rounds this past week, talking about that magic 'potential' we hear of British basketball so much. There is plenty in the article I disagree with, none more so than the entitlement of a statement like "There is no lack of effort, simply a lack of what they deserve." - I don't think that attitude will get us anywhere - but it's good to see the sport get some mainstream love.

That wraps up another drop, as always, hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else,

With gratitude,

Sam
