3-Point Thursday #270
Dec 17, 2021 3:16 am
Hey,
Happy Thursday evening to ya! Early start tomorrow to head to Clapham as the seating is complete and fencing removed, finally! Going go try get some drone shots for sun rise, and then the final 'complete' shots so we can sign off the project and look ahead to next summer...
This week's 3-pointer:
🇬🇧 Lions stun Bourges in EuroCup playoffs 1st leg
It was a victory 'nobody expected', and the greatest win by a female club in the history of British basketball, as London Lions pulled off a blinder with their 1 point first leg win over perennial Euroleague side Bourges on Wednesday in Crystal Palace. It was incredible to be there - and really reemphasised to me how important the history of the game is to give us context on all these great games and players - must do a better job documenting it and making it widely accessible! Watch the full condensed highlights here.
🦠 Lions trip to Russia called off due to COVID-19
Meanwhile, you can't help but feel for the men, who for the second consecutive year have had their European campaign interrupted by COVID-19 - still no word from FIBA on whether it will be a case of rescheduling, or if it will have to be a forfeit - fingers crossed for the former!
It's rare we see someone catch fire quite like this - check out Ipswich's Ava Battese firing in an impressive 41 points via 11 three-pointers in WNBL Division!
That wraps up another drop, as always, hit reply with any comments, questions or anything else!
With gratitude,
Sam
