3-Point Thursday #269
Dec 10, 2021 5:10 am
Hey,
Way past my bedtime but I'm up to get this out on a Thursday while I remember!
This week's 3-pointer:
πΊ Clapham Common renovation featured on Sky Sports
Was honoured to be interviewed on Sky Sports NBA Heat Check tonight to talk about the Clapham Common basketball court renovation - though it is frustrating to have had to launch before the seating was installed (supply chain issues meant 3+ month delays) so you have me banging on about how great the seating is but they are nowhere to be seen in the actual video! lol. Can confirm seating has been installed over the last fortnight and the cement is setting (and it's for 250 not 180 as stated in the video!) - expect final photos soon. Not even sure how to describe how I feel to get this one over the line, but it is defo a career highlight and has me thinking about future potential locations for more (Birmingham seems obvious with the Commonwealth games next year, and I'm sure there's a lot of money floating around - let me know if you have any connections!)! Check the Sky feature on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram (YouTube pending) - please feel free to give it a little love on social and spread it far and wide!
π§ BBF Chair talks
If you are a British basketball fan, I highly recommend you subscribe to Mark Woods' newsletter over at MVP, one of the few places to get high quality journalism around the sport we all love. This week he managed to get an interview with interim BBF Chair Toni Minichiello, who speaks on the decision to cut the U20s and the tough financial position the BBF amongst other things.
πΊπΈBrits in College - November
Brad has done a great job rounding up all the action from the girls in the US college system through the opening month of the season - always great to track the next generation coming through. We'll be checking in with the boys very soon!
That wraps up another drop, as always, let me know if you have any questions, thoughts or anything else else!
With gratitude,
Sam
