3-Point Thursday #377

Feb 21, 2025 4:39 pm

Hey,

Wet and windy in London and have spent half my day visiting courts for potential renovations in South West London...stay tuned - we (the Hoopsfix Foundation) have a number of projects in the pipeline; Turnpike Lane should start in the spring, Brighton Beach will be completed in the spring with the artwork, a court in Brent (Gibbons Park) is undergoing consultation, one in East London there is one in Bristol which is looking like we're gonna get it over the line, while a couple of others are still in the works. Busy times (have you used our court finder yet? Please submit your outdoor court locations, along with photos of ones we might already have!).

Anyway, this week's 3-pointer:

🇬🇧 GB going for EuroBasket qualification

Clear your evening and get locked into Courtside1891 (for free) tonight from 6:30pm as GB take on Netherlands - a win will lock up Eurobasket qualification! And if you want to watch the rest of the games - use code H00PS-20 for a 20% discount on a max subscription to view other games in this window, while use the code H00PS-AN for a 20% discount on the annual pass (to reiterate - the GB game is FREE!).

💫 Quinn Ellis wins Italian Cup title and MVP

What an achievement for Quinn - I don't remember the last time a British player won an MVP at the professional level overseas, and to do it so young (and as a guard!) is saying something. Incredible and even better he got straight off the podium and joined GB for this week's international window!

1️⃣ Gibbins/Striuga win Jordan 1v1 tournament

Started off our month at the Regal running Jordan's 40 Years of Greatness 1v1 tournament - it's tough running these things in season but that said, we got it done, had some great moments and created some awesome memories. Congrats to Louisa Gibbins and Oskar Striuga for winning their respective categories - and Happy Birthday to Jordan Brand who celebrate their 40th anniversary throughout this year.

That wraps up another drop, as always, hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else!

With gratitude,

Sam

P.S. Find out how Kofi Josephs is building out his mental health + basketball programme...
