3-Point Thursday #245

Jun 11, 2021 1:22 am

Hey,

I could basically just copy and paste last week's email intro here and it would be just as relevant. Slow on content on the site as event planning has taken over my life - expect an announcement tomorrow morning!

So, some more randomness in this week's 3-pointer:

🕸 Hoopsfix Action Network

One of the things I would like to do in the near future is set up an online community of 'doers' within British basketball - those who organise events, run clubs, create content etc etc. It would essentially be a closed network to skill share and discuss projects to help them succeed - total transparency on pitch decks, budgets, tools to help etc. Every week I pick up valuable knowledge that I think could help others, and know countless other people within the space who I think would be great contributors. The question I have for you is, if it was to go ahead, which platform should I host it on? I am leaning towards Slack or Discord, but maybe people would prefer Facebook.

📺 Live streaming content

Unfortunately, we're pretty strapped for time to produce something of the level I'd like to but, trying to think of content we could potentially play during half time breaks on the stream at the Classic. Any bright ideas? Something that wouldn't be too labour intensive and we could turn around in the next week? Any half time content you've seen that you think is particularly good? Let me know!

📝 BBC Sport LeBron James feature

There was some irony in this one, the BBC gets two of British basketball's finest in Ryan Richards and Myles Hesson to quote about LeBron, whilst having never really taken much interest in their own careers. Felt a bit weird to me.

That wraps up another week, as always, hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else!

With gratitude,

Sam
