3-Point Thursday #243
May 28, 2021 1:59 am
Hey,
Things a little crazy at my end - in the midst of planning 3 events this summer - one of which is happening in the next 4 weeks and we still don't have the venue officially booked or pretty much anything else in place (pretty much can't do anything until you have a date and venue). Lol. All fun and games.
Anyway, this week's 3-pointer:
🏠 BBL franchise in Gloucester?
By the sounds of things, we could see a BBL franchise in Gloucester after the club came under new ownership earlier this year, and more recently it was revealed former Plymouth coach Jay Marriott is involved. They're looking to replicate the Bristol sporting club model, sharing resource with the football team and it sounds pretty exciting - by all accounts it seems like it is closer to reality than many think.
🏴 Julius Joseph & Steph Collins take the 3x3 reins
As the Commonwealth Games fast approaches, former senior internationals and Commonwealth Games medalists Julius Joseph and Stef Collins have been appointed Head Coaches of the Team England 3x3 sides. I'm intrigued to see how this 3x3 thing plays out with the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games - not convinced it'll ever be taken that seriously whilst 5x5 exists, but, I'm looking forward to watching!
Ipswich and City of London Academy both came through their semi-final encounters on Saturday to advance to the WNBL D1 final, as it will be the last piece of silverware up for grabs on the season in any official competition. Make sure you tune in!
That wraps up another drop, as always, hit reply with any questions or anything else.
With gratitude,
Sam
P.S. Anyone know about physical product prototyping? I need a prototype made (CADs are done) before finding a factory to manufacture - if anyone has experience or recommendations please let me know!
