3-Point Thursday #259
Sep 30, 2021 7:53 pm
Hey,
It's a Thursday and I'm here! Woop. Wanted to get it in early-ish to give you a heads up on the Lions game and make sure you tune in (point 1, below), as I flopped on doing the same thing last week!
Anyway, this week's 3-pointer:
📺 Lions Women on verge of EuroCup Women regular season qualification
Make sure you tune in tonight at 7pm live on YouTube as London Lions prepare to make history with a 30-point aggregate lead against Gran Canaria to qualify for the EuroCup Women regular season. With Jo Leedham and Leah McDerment both set to make their debuts, it is not one to miss - check out Brad's preview here.
🎙 Podcast: How to transform your local basketball court
Having watched Jon May and Tom Bennett grind on their Malvern Hoops campaign for the last 5 years, I took great pleasure seeing that their brand new basketball courts opened up last month - I thought it would be a good opportunity to get them to share their journey and hopefully take away some lessons that might help anybody else trying to do their own project. If you decide to take one on, let me know!
🚨 Upset alert: BA Lions D1 team defeat Surrey
London Lions pulled off one of the biggest upsets in BBL history on Friday night, as their Division 1 squad took down Surrey Scorchers 86-85 in the Cup. Chosen to play due to a COVID outbreak in the BBL squad, the team, made up primarily of under-19 players, finished the game on a 16-4 run to overturn a 12-point fourth quarter upset. Special shout out to 16 year old Zamoku Welche, who had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks in his BBL debut!
That wraps up another drop, as always, hit reply with any thoughts, questions or anything else!
With gratitude,
Sam
