🏆 BBL/WBBL Trophy Final spectacle

If you haven't seen it yet - where have you been?! David Sloan hit a buzzer beating 3 to give Caledonia Pride their first title in 20 years to produce incredible scenes at the Emirates Arena. In the WBBL, Leicester gave London a good run for their money before the Lions added to their silverware with an 81-70 victory, as Kiki Herbert-Harrigan finished with a WBBL Trophy finals record 33 points.

🇬🇧 BBF opts out of Pre-Olympic Qualifiers for the men

In a shock decision, the BBF has decided not to enter the men into the Pre-Olympic Qualifying tournaments in August, instead believing that camp and friendlies will do more for the teams preparation for EuroBasket 2025, which is now their focus. Not a popular decision with the people...and I agree; absolutely insane move from the organisation.

🏆 Academy Finals

I was in Manchester yesterday for Academy finals, as Barking Abbey re-claimed the EABL title with a win over Myerscough, CoLA defeated Itchen for the WEABL crown in the best game of the day, and then Shenley Brook End completed their perfect season to claim the 2023 CBL championship.

Elsewhere, Tosan Evbuomwan has declared for the NBA draft, and Solent have claimed the WNBL D1 title, while Hemel Storm have stayed perfect to take the NBL D1 league chip. Also check out the WBBL outlook for the final month of the season.
