It's always the worst when I'm about to get in bed and remember I haven't sent out the newsletter - so here I am banging it out at 10pm!

🎙 Podcast: Jesse Sazant

Really enjoyed the conversation this week with Jesse Sazant and hearing the lessons from Canadian basketball. I worked super closely with Jesse for 4 years on the elite academy leagues and have nothing but good things to say about him - is a true asset to the game here and should be a resource that is tapped into more!

❌ Season cancelled

Perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise but it defo was for me that all non-elite basketball seasons are cancelled - leaving only the BBL, WBBL (though Sevenoaks and Manchester are taking a break), NBL 1 and WNBL 1 (suspended until end of Jan) standing for 2020-21 season. Crazy news, and really feel for the players - particularly the graduating seniors (Class of 2021) who miss out on an opportunity to potentially get scholarship offers, compounded by the NCAA giving players who played last season another year of eligibility, meaning there are less scholarships going around.

🇬🇧 Power Rankings

The latest BBL Power Rankings are out as London are looking in control, meanwhile the BBL Cup Final will be contested by the Lions and Newcastle, after Newcastle defeated Leicester and London advanced automatically after Manchester were forced to forfeit due to COVID-19 protocols.
