I am excited to tell you about a new video series that I have been working on lately. It is different to my homeschooling guide: STARTING HOMESCHOOLING IN SOUTH AFRICA.

(If you have not read this guide, you can download it for FREE from my Resource Page. It covers all the aspects about staring homeschooling and hopefully answers many questions that a parent may have who is new to homeschooling.)

VIDEO SERIES

This video series, HOMESCHOOLING FOR BEGINNERS, covers aspects about LEARNING that aren't always talked about but are very much part of homeschooling. Sometimes, we are so focused on the 3 R's (Reading, Writing & Arithmetic) that the other subtle yet crucial aspects of learning get lost, even though still relevant for teaching the 3 R's. Topics included are how to create an environment for learning, what learning looks like in the foundation phase, how to allow for different aspects of learning and how to curate a learning route for your children.

SHARING MY VISION

I have been involved in education now for over 25 years already! It started when I was studying Social Work through Unisa (back in the 90's) and volunteered every Friday to assist the social worker/ parole officer at Wynberg Magistrate Court with Juvenile School for young offenders. It was here that I found my love for teaching! I changed my course of study to Education.... and have been teaching ever since, in some form or other.

My vision is to continue assisting parents starting out with homeschooling through practical advice in the form of homeschooling guides, videos, affordable educational resources and homeschooling tools. I also offer one-on-one consultation for those who would prefer talking to someone.

South Africa, as a nation, is very dear to my heart and I'd like to share these resources far and wide so that parents can feel confident about homeschooling their children and receive the support to do so.
