A British Indian, Smita Joshi was born in Gujarat, India, before moving to London at the age of ten. She has worked as a business executive selling multi-million dollar contracts to global, blue chip companies and was one of the first in bringing India’s Information Technology services into the heart of British and European companies.
As a freelance TV presenter and for her YouTube channel, The Self Discovery Channel - Smita Joshi, she has interviewed leading politicians, entrepreneurs and global gurus. She’s an experienced life coach, an avid yogi as well as a certified yoga teacher.

Intuition - How and Why it Works

But why is it so underrated in the world at large? What have we learnt so far from science about intuition?
We rely on it for important life decisions, like choosing a life partner, but without being conscious of using it. Whether it’s a hunch, gut feel, inner voice, precognition, intuitive insight, instinct or more profound states of consciousness, we often tend to dismiss its incredible value, perhaps because it’s intangible and elusive, random and not accessible on demand.
While we may lack awareness of how and when intuition is at play, high performers in diverse areas - from business, sports and science - use intuitive insight and intuitive judgement is as the ultimate tool for decision taking and creative problem solving.
In this session, I will:
- explore what scientific research has so far learnt about intuition and how and why it works
- practical value of applying intuition
- keys to honing intuition
