Show Me The Money! Grants & Funding - Practical Tips & Support
Revised: November 2025
Hello wonderful innovators,
Welcome to a jam-packed November edition. This month is thick with community capital, women & girls’ participation funds, AI and deep-tech challenges, heritage & culture restoration pots, and small-but-mighty grants for grassroots charities. If you’re in the West Midlands, Social Economy Drive (17–21 Nov) is your headline week: exhibitions, learning, awards and lots of people talking social impact.
Inside: practical funds for startup growth (including angel/VC readiness sessions), export accelerators for globally curious founders, climate and battery tech R&D for clean growth, museums & heritage support to unlock collections and conserve buildings, education & skills microgrants and youth mental health funds. We’ve prioritised earliest deadlines first within each section, so you can plan fast.
Our two featured superheros this month are Keith Shayaam-Smith CEO of Legacy Centre of Excellence. Keith incurred personal debt to ensure his building was saved for the community. Judith Stewart, a Commercial Director at Health Innovation West Midlands, if anyone, especially women, need re-motivating in whatever challenge you are facing speak with this wonderful woman.
This month’s most common themes center around: (1) community cohesion & place-making (Common Ground Award, SUEZ Communities Fund, Pride in Place), (2) women-focused participation & exporting (Lionesses HERe to Play, UKEF Female Founder Export Accelerator), (3) climate & clean tech commercialisation (CIP Business Development Programme, Battery Innovation Programme), (4) culture & heritage (Weston Loan Programme, Historic Houses Foundation, National Churches Trust), and (5) scaling ventures & capital readiness (Tech Nation Exit insights, BBB webinars, NatWest Funding Accelerator).

Top Tips for New Subscribers:
● If a grant or programme is not in your region, many funds listed are for the W Midlands. Search the keywords within the grant, as the programme may be running in your area, under a different name.
● Use AI to search this document, as some of the grants have a short applications window.
