Greetings,

Have you noticed those trees with the white flowers in your area in bloom in recent weeks? Often found lining residential streets or commercial areas, these trees are a sign of a mistake made in the landscaping world over past years.

The Bradford Pear had been a go-to choice in landscaping for years, but this invasive tree is now known to be a poor choice for several reasons we are sharing in these posts and video. It is now illegal to sell in numerous states and the landscaping community is working to switch to different trees in their stock.

We personally had one on the front corner of the house we bought years ago. We cut it down and replaced it with a beautiful Eastern Redbud Joe grew from seed. It has gotten to a decent size now and we are currently being treated to a beautiful bloom.

Learn more about the Bradford Pear Tree today and please share our posts on our Growit Buildit Facebook and Growit Buildit Instagram pages today. Sharing it while people can then observe it in bloom really helps people to see how it can spread into natural areas where it causes issues for natives. Great chance to educate!
