Greetings,
We are cruising right through July and enjoying a break in the heat in our area right now. Loving the variety of blooms around our gardens, the various bees, butterflies, & more that we are getting to watch, and our vegetable garden coming along.
This past week I enjoyed roasting beets from our garden, making a stir fry with garden cabbage, used some cucumbers and zucchini, and Joe tasted the first our our ripe garden tomatoes this morning. Also, our strawberry plants are continuing to produce. I picked a good sized bowl full this morning. I saved some to eat fresh & froze a bag to use in smoothies in the future. That has been a fun addition to our garden, highly recommend. Nothing beats coming out in the morning to pick strawberries to enjoy fresh with breakfast!
Back to flowers...
A flower I'd like to highlight today is a tall one and it is sure to be loved by butterflies. We have our Joe Pye Weed towards the rear of our micro prairie and I love watching the Eastern Tiger Swallowtails fluttering all around it. We share all about uses in the garden, how to grow it, how to save seed, and much more. If you have not thought of this as a fit for your yard, perhaps we can convince you otherwise today. :)
