Greetings,

Happy weekend! We hope this message finds you well. Yesterday, I planted some cabbage plants and brussels sprout plants I picked up from a local nursery. I am hoping to get some of my own cabbage for the fermented sauerkraut I make.

I just didn't get my own started from seeds for Fall planting...and as a gardening friend told me the other day...it's ok to buy plants when you need, just grow food...just grow food. Great advice!

Today on the blog, we have a plant profile to share that we are just in LOVE with. We have been growing this in our yard for a couple years and have been in awe of the joy we have gotten from it.

Meadow Blazing Star is loved by monarchs. We have it in several places around our yard and could count on seeing monarchs at them throughout the day!

One of my favorite things was enjoying our lunches on our deck, which had a meadow blazing star nearby, and getting to lunch with the monarchs everyday with our kids. What a treat!!

And when I say monarchs...I mean a handful of them consistently. It was the norm to have 3 to 4, even 5 on a plant at a time! I hope you enjoy learning all about this beautiful and amazing native plant.
