Greetings,

Happy December! I did not send a newsletter out the past two weeks, so if you were wondering if it was lost somewhere in a spam folder, not to worry. We had a busy few weeks involving both work and holiday travel. I hope this message finds you and yours well!

Some may say we are entering the 'off-season' for gardeners, but we have found that to not be the case as we have grown in our knowledge and skills. Some things we have been working on recently have been collecting unwanted leaves and pumpkins from neighbors, starting new compost piles for winter, and expanding our vegetable garden. In a few weeks, we will start winter sowing plants for next season.

In addition to those tasks, there are a lot of other tasks to consider working on this winter to help better prepare you for next growing season. We have compiled a list for you and linked them to more detailed information on those you may want to work on yourself. So, I guess we will say that for gardeners...there is no off season, haha!

Beef Sticks, beef, & chicken from Audubon Conservation Certified Ranches. There are 4 areas to meet this standard. 1. habitat management for birds. 2. livestock must free graze on open grassland with no antibiotics, no animal-byproducts, & minimal grain supplementation. 3. must demonstrate best practices for animal health & welfare. 4. use native grasses for forage, neonicotinoid pesticides are prohibited and others are restricted, & waterways are protected. I found the company searching for a beef stick with the ingredients they use, so it was a happy accident I found a company with this commitment to regenerative practices to restore our grasslands. I contacted them to ask to share them with an affiliate link and a discount code for our followers who may like to support a company with this mission. (I may earn a small commission when you order by clicking my link.) They just launched a new website and there is a 5 minute video on their homepage that will share information on their company and ranchers.

Thank you for being part of our Growit Buildit community! Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Tara
