Hi ,
Welcome to the Gregeration X Newsletter for May 14/15, 2021. This is science fiction and fantasy author, Greg Sorber. If you’re receiving this message, it means you signed up for my mailing list on my website or downloaded Duel of Destiny (A Mechhaven Novella) from a Story Origin group promotion.
As I was preparing this newsletter, I scanned through my email list and I noticed I have subscribers on multiple continents now! Please reach out and let me know where you're from and what you thought of Duel of Destiny.
FYI...I'm now on Instagram you can find me here: https://www.instagram.com/gregerationx
Mechhaven Missives
- The countdown has begun! As of 05/14/2021, we are now 11 days away from the release of Pax Machina!
- Final edits on Pax Machina are nearing completion...I'll be spending the weekend and part of next week working on formatting the ebook and paperback manuscript in Vellum. Vellum makes formatting super easy. Once everything is ready, I'll give the cover artist, Jeff Brown the final page count, type of paper, and a few other details so he can format the paperback cover. Very exciting times!
- Speaking of exciting, look what I received in the mail last week! This is a paperback version of the novella, so it's really short (84 pages), but it looks great. If you're interested in a physical copy of Duel of Destiny, you can get it here: https://amzn.to/3bj14KL
- Once I wrap everything up on Pax Machina, I'll be spending a week or two putting the final touches on Unexpected Contact, a Mechhaven Novella set after Duel of Destiny, but before Pax Machina. It should be a lot of fun and will be released in August.
- After Unexpected Contact, I'll be diving in to editing Mechs and Machinations, the sequel to Pax Machina. I've been rereading MaM at night (for fun) and I really like the feel of the story. I need to get the manuscript to my editor in mid-to-late July so that Mechs and Machinations can be released in late October.
- Just a quick head's up, this is normally a bi-weekly newsletter, but there may be an extra release or two during Pax Machina's launch week. After that we'll get back to our regular bi-weekly schedule.
Featured Promotion
This week author Elysia Lumen Strife and I are exchanging mentions in our newsletters. Please take a look at a sample of her Infinite Spark series. If you like, please support her in any way you can. If you enjoy a blend of tech and the supernatural, alien empires and apocalyptic planets, this series is for you!
Stellar Fusion
This isn't the first invasion. This time, they’re taking everything… and everyone.
Earth, still patching itself together from the 300 Years War, is severely unprepared and outnumbered when the invasion hits. Their only hope is a small team of soldiers on a suicide mission to infiltrate the mothership and relay critical defense information home.
The last survivor of the first encounter can't explain why she knows what she does. Sergeant Nakio Atana is the Universal Protectors’ elite assassin and holds within a spark of unimaginable power. But a daring escape from an enemy ship knocked the first fifteen years of her life into darkness, leaving her with only inexplicable apathy and technical knowledge beyond Earth’s evolution.
What she is can change their future.
Sergeant Bennett must guard her with his life.
Together, Atana and Bennett lead the team in hopes her knowledge, and his crew’s skills, will render them a soft spot in the alien armor. What they find when they reach the mothership is entirely unexpected. The truth they uncover will challenge the code they live by and their concepts of the power within.
